North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will soon make an official visit to Vietnam, officials announced on Saturday, as Hanoi prepares to host Kim and US President Donald Trump for a summit next week.

“Kim Jong Un will pay an official visit to Vietnam in the coming days,” Vietnam’s foreign ministry said Saturday on its Facebook page.

The ministry did not specify when the visit would take place, but several sources told AFP news agency on Friday that Kim was expected to arrive late on February 25 or February 26.

Kim and Trump will meet on February 27 and 28, the second summit between the two leaders aimed at dismantling North Korea‘s nuclear arsenal.

Their first summit last year produced a vaguely-worded commitment for Pyongyang to denuclearise, and observers are hoping the follow up meeting will produce concrete outcomes.

Kim is expected to travel to Vietnam by train, stopping at the Dong Dang train station near the China border before making the 170-km journey to Hanoi by car.

Hanoi is taking the unprecedented move of blocking all traffic along the road from 6:00 am until 2:00 pm local time on February 26, state media reported Friday, suggesting Kim will travel along the normally busy highway.

Vietnam has beefed up security at the Dong Dang station and along the road leading to Hanoi, according to AFP reporters at the scene who saw scores of armed guards in the area on Saturday.

Earlier reports by Reuters news agency said Kim will also visit the Vietnamese manufacturing base of Bac Ninh and the industrial port town of Hai Phong.

Vietnam’s President and general-secretary of the ruling Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong, will meet Kim before a planned trip by Trong to neighbouring Laos, one of the sources told Reuters.

A bride made the devastating decision to cancel her wedding to her partner of seven years after her dad revealed the ‘sexist’ demand his family had made behind her back.

The dad says his daughter got engaged recently and he had always been fond of her fiancé, who he thought of as “kind, humble and always respectful to our family”.

However, he says when he has met the man’s family for dinner on a couple of occasions, they made remarks towards his daughter which made him feel uncomfortable, including: ‘I don’t know why you’re working, isn’t that the husband’s job? It’s the mother’s job to be taking care of the children’.

As his daughter pair pressed ahead with their plans for the ceremony, the dad says her fiancé arranged a meeting with them both and his parents, adding that his daughter couldn’t be involved.

Previously, Gordon was slammed for the size of his steak and chips, was told to “get a grip” for the price of his fry-up and criticised for the roast which was compared to a ‘child’s portion’.

But the latest customer to be disappointed by the TV chef’s food was Simon, who visited the three Michelin star restaurant with friends, Daily Star reports.

Simon was ‘insulted’ after receiving a “preselected” cheese board, and took to TripAdvisor to leave a two-star review.
